National Hereditary Cancer Week is September 25 – October 1, and National Previvor Day is September 28. 12 years ago, Congress unanimously passed a resolution establishing the first-ever National Hereditary Breast and Ovarian Cancer Week and National Previvor Day. Three years ago, our friends at FORCE renamed the observation National Hereditary Cancer Week to ensure ALL people affected by hereditary cancer are recognized and supported.
#NationalHereditaryCancerWeek provides a time to acknowledge and honor everyone with a #genetic mutation that increases their cancer risk, as well as the families and caregivers that support them – including people with Lynch syndrome or inherited mutations in BRCA1/2, ATM, BRIP1, CHEK2, PALB2, PTEN, RAD51C/D or any other gene associated with hereditary cancer. This week is about honoring hereditary cancer survivors, previvors, caregivers, and family members - by sharing information to help others who may be at an increased risk.
INHERET supports those affected by hereditary cancer, through easy-to-use tools that capture important family health history, assess risks, and inform patients and families on the next best steps toward protecting their health.
We believe in early detection and prevention.
We believe #ThereIsPowerInKnowing.
